Ep#59: Awareness for C-Section and Soon To Be Moms

Are you soon to be a mama who is planning a C-Section birth? Have you ever wondered how you can fully prepare your body for C-Section and to recover easily? How can you activate and strengthen your body so it can provide support, decrease your health risk, and help you easily recover for postpartum?

This week’s Empower Your Pelvis Podcast, Dr. Amanda Fisher will talk about how soon-to-be and C-Section mama’s prepare their body with the C-Section birth, the things they should expect and how they can decrease the pain after the surgery. She will also discuss some tips and tricks to help amplify the strength and stability of their core, especially with exercises and stretches, and mobility and scar tissue work.

I will touch on such topics as:

  • The first thing that will happen during the C-Section is the skin incision across the lower abdominal tissue, typically above the pubic bone.
  • Your muscle is not cut, the muscle is separated.
  • How can a pelvic floor therapist help you in myofascial release, and help create space for the organs in your abdominal tissue, and decrease the lower abdominal discomfort?
  • How does tissue create tension tightness resulting in sensitivity that causes these zingers?
  • How a woman can develop pain with sex when there is an abdominal surgery and not a vaginal birth.
  • How women can get pelvic floor tension and have a caesarean at the same time.
